I was on ur blog and I noticed that you were good with anatomy and composition in 2007 which was ur first year. How did you become so good while in high school? Did you attend life drawing classes then?
Ive been going through your blog and see u do life drawing classes. How is that like? Do you feel it really helps you understand the human figure?I dont start doing that until the next level of drawing at my college. Do your teachers give you tips in drawing the figure? do you also take a painting class? I really like your watercolor pics. You just keep improving and improving. Keep it up bro
yeah life drawing is a huge help with drawing in general. you learn about composition, structure, negative shapes, anatomy, tone, handling the mediums, etc. Try going to life drawing as soon as possible cause it should take one or two years to grasp all the anatomy and the medium and learning all that stuff to a 'decent' level.
Just a helpful tip when going to life drawing though, a lot of ppl go like everyday but has no focus on what they want to achieve in that 3 hour session and at the end of the week dont really learn anything. Try not to fall in that trap and before going in, make a goal for yourself.
wow thx for the reply! Well since the beginning of the semester, the teacher is approaching this class as if we know nothing about drawing, but alot of it so far is stuff i know (which is good in a way,to help refresh my memory). I kinda feel ahead of the class since i already know most of the stuff that the teacher is teaching. Just last week he were learning about perspective, and you wouldnt believe how many people were amazed looking at a hallway and seeing how the lines converge to one point lol.
I just really want to get into anatomy/value/life drawing soooo bad. I've seen u improve so much...i consider u my rival. May we both strive to become great artists!
