Nobody knows who I really am
I never felt this way before
And if I ever need someone to come along
Who's gonna comfort me and keep me strong?

my love's another kind
the detail and addin surroundin light part....
how do u know that the surroundin light is enough or not.. its all up to the feel too? surroundin light is partly soft brush n hard brush or jz soft brush all the way?
after step 3, the determind backgroud mood, do you use hard brush or soft brush to get the shape of cloudo ?

its complicated.
generally for me at least, just do enough detail so that you get the point across, because we tend to add too much detail because we zoom in and stuff but to a normal viewer they wont even see the really fine detail. I think its alright to just scribble some colour to the smaller spots of detail.
surrounding light-
not exactly sure what you mean by this. For the general lighting, I think you should first think about the setting, like if its a sunny outdoor setting with a happy mood/atmosphere, then the lighting will be very strong, thus dont have too much contrast between the normal colour tone and the shading tones.
For the cloud pic, the setting is very dark with no natural lighting (from the sky/sun) thus you have an artificial light source with a redish hue. The amount of brightness you put in is entirely up to you( the stronger you make the lighting, the bigger the contrast in shadows and highlights). unlike normal lighting everything the light shines on will have a redish glow instead of the normal bright yellow/white glow. Shadows from this are generally darker as well.
Brushes -
I used the soft brush for the entirety of this pic, if you press it with enough pressure, it still paints a solid block of colour. The only time I use the hard brush is for when I need varying THICKNESS in my lines and strokes. (a good example is when doing hair strands)
hope this helps, just keep asking if you dont understand something I wrote, but anyways all this is just my analysis, they are probably far from right, its best to look up some professional source material >')
